Off-grid datacenter LCOE: how cheaply can AI run on clean power?

An open, fully-reproducible model that works out the least-cost way to power a firm (always-on), off-grid datacenter on mostly-renewable energy — solar, wind, batteries and a backup — and the year going clean beats simply burning gas, across the US and Europe from 2025 to 2040. It also ranks concrete European sites by the cheapest 24/7 carbon-free power, spanning solar+wind, geothermal, hydropower and pumped storage.
